Just a quick heads-up. The barrel has to be a separate mesh as well (One .fbx, just two meshes) so we can rotate the barrel up and down to aim at the player correctly. (addressing the relative difference in height)
What do you mean by barrel? If you mean the gun itself, including the flashlight, they are rigged to be controlled by a bone (probably called 'aim'). Wasn't this enough a solution?
this thing wasnt even final guys, unless its final dont judge it to serious just yet, and @ petori, u might wanna add it in the comments next time u post :P saves u alot of explaining :P
I thought the fact this thing isn't even textured said enough :P Well I'm guessing this model to be completed, including (tested) animations, tomorrow :)
Video title: "Drone Rigged and animated!" might have confused people.
However, I wasn't commenting on anything about that, we (Bo and I) tried to do some coded animations with bones and it's terribly annoying (could be due to Y-up vs Z-up conflicts). Since every mesh is treated as a Bone as well, we can do it both ways. depending on which works best (and is the most efficient) More on that later...
Hmm yeah I heard about the coded animation problems. I also heard about Dummies giving more problems than Bones, because of some messed up matrix? Very interested how this will develop, those Dummies seemed like such a good plan at the time..
Why is the head moving and not the body?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenremember only the legs and body need to be animated. The head will be done with code
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe head is just a temporary animation to check the pivot, and the body is not properly rigged yet. Calm down alright :P
BeantwoordenVerwijderenscrolling UV's, lol :D I like it so far, looking forward to the final animation. (including rotation, upright shooting stance)
