Wall Part modeling exercise :)

v4

v2

The 3d dep. hasn't much to do while the concept art and IP are being developed, so today I went for a little high-poly modeling exercise.
Hope you like the design, 'cause I tried to come up with something logical and nice design-wise as well.

  3. "I tried to come up with something logical"

So why is tis design logical? It doesnt seem to have a function at all

  4. The top half is a vent for hot air to escape,
just below that are a few plates to cover up radiator tubes, from which the fluid will be visible below (that half-cylindrical shape will be transparent).
The big tube on the side will be the input of fluid, and the small drawer at the bottom can be pulled open for some additional papers.

It is my first try, far from perfect and only to train myself into thinking functional design.

  5. Trying never hurts anyone, ofcourse. I recommend looking up shitloads of reference pictures before you model this kind of stuff. And ehm, ' plates to cover up radiator tubes'? Oh hell no, show us those babies :D

  6. Rly like the fact you went out and did something concerning the project, good initiative!

Although i think the design is a little to outdated tech and shape wise (to boishock-ish).

Most of the subdiv's are well placed, but i still spot some mayor smoothing errors around sharp corners and other vital but hard to stick area's. Good to see ur sub-d skills are far from beginner status. keep it up Petory!!

  7. Nice, the 2nd communicates a lot more functionality.
