Creating the Xbox build...

Just started converting the project over to the Xbox 360. With the past months consisting mostly of adding Winforms to the engine. It will now have to be either excluded in the Xbox build or slightly altered to ensure the Xbox will run it properly.

For those of you who like images:

I guess a lot can be solved fairly quickly, just takes time and boring repetitive work. The Level loading will be recoded as well as VisualScript as its mostly built inside winforms...which is not available on the Xbox 360.

Update:
Level serialization is now working again. Should be able to run it on an Xbox tomorrow. It took a lot more effort than anticipated, but luckily It didn't require too many drastic changes. The levels can now be build on the PC and converted to .xnb so it can run on the Xbox.
Now moving on to fixing the VisualScript. It was originally created to run on PC only, so I have no idea how much time it will take to make it run on the Xbox (The complete system is based on Winforms, which is not available on the Xbox 360)

  1. I've just completed the error fixing. Fixing one, caused ten others to arise. I'm not near my Xbox unfortunately, so that'll have to wait. I hope VisualScript won't be too much of a hassle to fix...

  2. Heh, it's amazing how easy it is to forget how limited the Xbox is, in a way, isn't it?

  3. Absolutely, amazes me how some studios manage to create such incredible looking games, given the limitations :)

As for lack of Winforms (which is totally understandable as it wouldn't make sense to have Winforms functionality on a Xbox 360) I've spend the past 2-3 months adding a ton of Winforms related features into the engine, all of which now have to be either excluded or converted to get it working on the Xbox...

Btw. the first working prototype should be running on the 360 tomorrow evening.
